Now's time for the Vacant building owners to come to the table
I believe we need to partner with downtown building owners to establish a marketing plan for the vacant buildings in our downtown. In a down economy there become oppertunities. Now is the time to invite Mall stores that are strugling to come back to the downtown area. By offering ecentives both from the City and vacant building owners we have the ability to bring more business to RWC. Putting a sign on a vacant buiding proclaiming its vacancy is only marketing to us. I want to see their marketing plan. I want to invite the owners to the table. Our downtown is ripe for business and the businesses already there need our support to continue. Business brings business...Parking meters, I feel are a little ahead of their time. They are at times confusing & costly to some. Let's revisit them. I would be willing to sit down and disscuss ways we can get more visitors to our downtown by making it more inviting and less comberson. Sticker program, two hour parking , free on some days, all are possibilities.
