No public Charter High School

By Marcia Ann Cohn-Lyle

Candidate for City Council member; City of Foster City

This information is provided by the candidate
Very negative effect on SMUHSD's fiscal health due to additional expenses in support of students.
Not in favor of the public charter high school because it will put the district's balanced budget in jeopardy. The high school disctrict HAS a balanced budget, a 3% Reserve on the way to 6%, and has been approved by the County. The public just voted overwhelmingly in support of a $298M bond to beautifully finish the construction of the 6 Comprehensive High Schools. There are award-winning math and science programs already in the District. The District was petitioned once before by this group, and they were offered Crestmoor in San Bruno which was turned down, and the same offer stands this time.
