  • Candidate 2000 Los Rios Community College District Area 7 Trustee
  • Active in community service, i.e. Chair, Elk Grove 2001 4th of July event, Judge, 2001, 2002 Western Festival, Founder STRA 1997
  • Owner of John Taylor Painting/Handyman for 10 years, Sexton of St Mary's Episcopal Church
  • Top two priorites are the improving of academic student success, enhance the communication link between trustees and campus staff and parents

Top Priorities if Elected
  • Improving academic student success & properly prepare them for entry into college. 46% of freshman can't read, write or do math at the college level.
  • Better communication between trustees and campus staff and parents. I will utilize focus groups at the campus level to listen to staff and parents
  • Campus safety will be another top priority. My goal during my term will be to improve upon the ratio of district police officers to schools

Position Papers
Improving academic student success so students are properly prepared for entry into college
Approximately forty-six percent of incoming freshman can't read, write or do math at the college level and must take remedial classes to be able to perform at the required level necessary to succeed in college.
Enhance the communicatio between trustees and campus staff and parents
I will utilize my own independent focus groups with campus staff and parents within my district area.
I'm not in support of standardized testing have several areas of concern regarding standardized testing
