Inge Doherty has been a San Carlos resident for over 30 years. Growing up in the White Oaks area, she attended local schools before attending USC's School of Architecture. She returned to San Carlos in 1988, and began working with her family's manufacturing firm located in the area of San Carlos formerly known as the Harbor Industrial Area before moving on to other career opportunities. She lives in San Carlos with her three sons who attend St. Charles School. They are members of the St. Charles parish.

Occupation:
Professionally, Inge Doherty has been working with technology start-ups for the past 6 years. During this time, she has specialized in the development and implementation of information systems that augment positive changes in organizational or business processes. In addition, she has also provided management consulting and interim management support in the Information Technology area to several clients in the high tech market. She is currently on sabbatical.

Voluntary Positions held:
Within the city, Inge currently serves the community as a member of the San Carlos Planning Commission. She has been chair twice in her 6 years on the commission, including during the Laurel Theatre and Garden Hacienda applications. She has recently been re-appointed for a third term. Before being appointed to the planning commission, Inge was an appointed member of EDAC (Economic Development Advisory Committee), and served on several sub-committees including the Parking and Permit Streamlining committees. Inge is a graduate of the Leadership San Carlos, Belmont, Redwood City program where she learned more about the surrounding communities and the county. Inge is currently a member of the San Carlos Chamber of Commerce and Friends of the Library. She is also active in local sports programs including San Carlos Little League and AYSO where she has refereed for Division 6 teams.

From 1987 until 1997, Inge was very active in the Harbor Industrial Association. Along with Howard Jones, Inge worked with the cities of Belmont and San Carlos to bring the Harbor industrial area into San Carlos. These endeavors took them to many places (including a trip to Sacramento to defeat an Assembly bill) but the hard work and countless hours finally paid off, and most of the area has now been annexed into the City of San Carlos.
