This information is provided by the candidate

I am originally from Redding, but I have lived all over the state. My father worked on the California Water Project for the Department of Water Resources, and we followed the project from the Oroville Dam, to the Delta Pumping Plant, down to the Perris Dam near Riverside.

I lived in Long Beach and San Pedro in the late seventies and early eighties where I worked at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard. I was the first woman to graduate from the apprentice program as a Journeyman Marine Electrician. My husband and I worked at the Army Depot when we first moved to Sacramento.

I stayed at home with my kids when they were little but returned to school and got a A.A. in Architecture at Cosumnes River College. I have worked for several local architects since graduating from CRC. Architecture and the building industry were the first to be affected by the economic downturn. I have been unemployed for two years, although recently have have had the opportunity to work on small remodel projects from my home. Hopefully this trend will continue as we climb out of this recession.
