Candidate for Member, Board of Trustees; Village of Croton-On-Hudson

This information is provided by the candidate
As indicated in my biolgraphical information and my reasons for running, I have been involved in most of the key achievements in Croton since the early 1990's. In addition to the specific projects identified in Paper 1, I have been successful in bringing residents together to accomplish some special initiatives. I was instrumental in bringing together residents to form the Bicycle Pedestrian Committee which ultimately produced a Bike/Ped Master Plan. The plan was adopted in April of 2009. I brought together residents interested in addressing the commercial vacancies in the Harmon area of the Village to form an Economic Development Committee. This committee did the research and laid the groundwork for the recent Harmon Gateway rezoning, making investment in commercial development more attractive to property owners and potential new business owners. Earlier I put together a Public Arts Committee which developed a Public Art Policy that was adopted by the Village Board. On a more individual level, I was instrumental in bringing Zeytima's Gourmet Market to Croton. Along with then Trustee Leo Wiegman, we went to New York City and marketed the Village of Croton to them and provided support with their move to Croton. I have recently also been actively involved in many local efforts such as working out details of a local dog park and working to convince the Farmers Market to locate in Croton.
