INCLUSION - ACCESS - BALANCE

These are the objectives that drive me to become a city council member. I spent most of my 60 years in San Mateo as a community activist, promoting more participation of residents in city affairs.

I will work to involve those who feel pushed aside. Our city needs the involvement of everyday people as well as those with power and influence. Examining the needs of all concerned will only strengthen us. We have a wonderful city. To keep it that way we must stay vigilant.

I was a Planning Commission for eight years (1999-2007). During that time, I worked to balance the needs of our residents, our city, and the developers. I am known for asking the tough questions. I constantly requested more and clearer information. Maintaining the distinctive character of our neighborhoods is too precious to be buried in mounds of paperwork and unclear language.

My unique knowledge, perspective, and my connections to the average San Mateo citizens will make me an effective council member. I am running as the Voice of the People and I seek your support.
