City Council; City of Half Moon Bay

  • Joe Cotchett (HMB property owner for 35 years): The words that come to mind regarding George Muteff are Independent and Integrity.
  • Sue Burzo: The time is now to elect George Muteff to HMB City Council. He's done his homework and will work together with the Council members to heal and strengthen our HMB community for years to come. Vote for George Muteff on November 3, 2009.
  • Joel Farbstein (President, North Coast Hockey League (part of the CYA) -Board Member, Boys and Girls Club of the Coastside -Member, Midcoast Park and Recreation Committee): I firmly believe the George Muteff would work tirelessly to create more opportunities for youth activities here on the Coast, and I expect him to be an effective advocate for active parkland. In my opinion, his history of challenging the current HMB City Council to adopt fiscally sound business practices would well serve the entire Coastside.
  • Eddie Andreini Sr: George has knowledge on the issues and will make it right, not just go with the politically correct party move.
  • Cheryl Stockton: He's passionate, he's dedicated, he's relentless, and he's right.
  • Tommy Rice: We want real change. We want our town back.
  • Les Deman (Planning Commissioner): George won't be cowered by special interests. He will move HMB forward, not backward.
  • Silvia Prewett: Open your eyes.
  • Bob Fernandez: George spends an immense amount of time attending meetings to keep himself current on the real issues; as a result he is extremely well informed and prepared to make good decisions based on facts and truth.
  • Lucy Lopez: George will represent all the residents of HMB.
  • Charles Gardner (Cabrillo Unified School District Board Member): George is a straight talker. He gets right to the point, and has the insight that most of us simply wish we had.
  • Bill Dahl: Why am I voting for George? Because he does what he says he's going to do! It's about HMB, not egos. Let's make it right.
  • Jim Larimer (CCWD Board Member): I support George because he has the courage to see the truth.
  • Robin Jeffs (ARC Member): We have a City to run. We are fed up with being dictated to by people from Woodside. George lives here.
  • Tom Roman (Planning Commissioner): I support George for Half Moon Bay City Council. George has an in depth understanding of the complex issues that our City faces, because he takes the time and energy to research the facts. I believe that George will bring an honest and fact-based approach to decision making. George also has a deep passion for this City, and as a result I believe he will seek to make it a better place to live.
  • Linda Andreini: Right on George. I hope they are all listening. You've got it and we are with you.
  • Stacy Owens-Monteiro: George is fiscally responsible, honest and accountable. He approaches this job and the City Council with a lot of integrity. What you see is what you get.
  • Jerry and Barbara Steinberg: We feel confident that George will represent ALL the people of HMB, ALL the time, fairly and with honesty and integrity.
  • Freda Jeffs: George has no hidden agenda and will always do what is best.
  • Brian Ginna: George will bring representation for all residents, not special interests.
  • Ozzie Monteiro: Persistent.
  • Dick Charnock (Former HMB Planning Commissioner): George listens, will examine all sides of an issue and make informed decisions.
  • Dana Monteiro: He gets the facts before speaking out.
  • Chris Mickelson (CCWD Board President): George knows the history of Beachwood and won't let it happen again.
  • Eddie Andreini Jr: The most important thing for our City is to clean up and update our Local Coastal Program (LCP) so we don't repeat the mistakes of the past. I believe this is one of George's top priorities.
    Cameron Palmer: George knows that our future depends on a strong local economy and has the guts to make the tough decisions.
  • Mike Fahey: George is well researched, honest and forthright. He says what's on his mind and he cares about our town and the town's people.
  • Valerie Lopez: George will provide honest, fair and responsible leadership. He has no hidden agenda or support from special interest groups.
  • Leslie Ann Horwitz Deman: George does the research on the City Issues, figures out what needs to be done, and takes action to solve the problem.
  • Jeffrey Wolf: My kind of politician
  • Don Freese: George demonstrates common sense. He counsels with many other professionals to gain knowledge. He demonstrates the ability to listen and he has the actual skill to hear what people are saying.
  • Pat Jonsson (Planning Commission Member): George is acutely aware of all the lingering issues; like the LCP clean up and update, cleaning and maintaining our ditches, our buffers, proper zoning for our residential lots, and more. I'm counting on him to finally resolve them.
  • Terry Gossett: George has a solid grasp of local issues, and has accurately predicted many recent events that have negatively impacted, and are continuing to impact, our community. George is a leader with the skills that we need.
  • Steve Wilson: For many years, George has demonstrated his passion for our community by asking difficult questions and sticking to his principles. Too often our elected officials have been governed by an unthinking herd mentality or even worse, a narrow minded zealotry. George is different. His incisive thinking and civic courage have earned him a place at the table.
  • Marina Stariha, (coastside resident of 45 years, CUSD Board Trustee 1994-2002): I trust George to put Half Moon Bay's interests above all. He truly loves Half Moon Bay. He has keen intelligence, financial acumen and absolute honesty. He has studied and assessed all of HMB's local issues for years, and is in the best position to make informed decisions for the benefit of the Half Moon Bay community.
  • Chad Hooker: I support George Muteff. I've been to the meetings; I've heard George address the council, the issues, the realities of the day. I am persuaded he can and will move the tiller to change our direction because he has at heart the best for this city, unencumbered by concerns over who gets miffed. If you want more of the same old inaction, sugarcoated in political correctness, vote for someone else. If you want leadership to help us all get it back on course, elect George Muteff. He will expect you to hold him to his word.
  • Dale Dunham: Someone with the initiative and energy to find the best course and aggressively pursue it.
  • Ty & Heidi Drake: A fine candidate and good friend.
  • Nina Pellegrini: I think George is the best thing for HMB. He is smart and has been on top of all the major issues in HMB for years. He has a firm understanding of HMB's needs. He is Mr. HMB, and wants to help HMB move forward.
  • Hal & Dorothy Cavaness: A candidate we can count on to say what he believes and follow his convictions.
  • Michael Lederman: If intelligence, passion and a deep commitment to community matter to you, then George Muteff deserves your vote.
  • Jolanda Schreurs: (Cabrillo Unified School District Board Member): Government agencies need talent at the helm that is devoted to solid leadership and devotion to the best interests of our tax-paying citizens. George Muteff can navigate the complexities of Coastside issues; he is keenly intelligent, does his homework thoroughly and is financially articulate.
  • Kevin Palmer: George is responsible and can get things done. He has the small business guy in mind on a continual basis and has the skills to help.
  • Dino Andreotti: George knows Argriculture and supports Agriculture. That's how I make my living and I can use all the help I can get.
  • Terry Andreotti: Being a farm wife, running a family agriculture business, and with the way the economy is, I know George is going to help try to change the off-road signage & help the small businesses in this town. He can and will be good for business.
  • Joe Angelini: George is very knowledgeable.
  • Greg Jamison: George has a real interest in the City of Half Moon Bay. He is knowledgeable on the issues the city faces today. His dedication over the years in attending numerous council meetings gives him the ability to work well within the political process if he is elected to city council.
  • Randy Ralston: George will bring accountability, decisiveness, and practical solutions to local issues impacting all of us here on the Coastside. This community desperately needs the type of leadership that George can
    provide. Leadership that puts politics aside, challenges old thinking, and brings new ideas and a fresh perspective for improving our quality of life.
  • Wayne & Jill Impink: We feel George is undeniably passionate about what happens on the coastside. As an informed candidate, George knows what it takes to move HMB forward with accountability and positive leadership.
  • Suzanne Hyder: I'm voting for George because I believe he has a high degree of integrity, actively pursues the ideal of open and honest government, and diligently works to be knowledgeable on community issues.
  • Fred & Connie Whelen and Shannon W. Henretty: George comes to the game fully prepared.
  • Paul McGregor: George goes to every Council meeting; has for years. The only time the other candidates show up is when a new camera is there. George is real. George is there.
  • Brian McNamara (North Coast Hockey Board Member): George will fight for better facilities for our kids.
  • Saso Gale: I believe George Muteff will be a wonderful addition to the City Council because:
    - He speaks his mind regardless of the popularity of his view.
    - He sees things in the shades of gray instead of black-and-white.
    - He pursues what he deems right and important.
    The combination of the above will make George a positive influence on the
    City government and the interest/involvement of Half Moon Bay citizens in City governance.
