Biography - Fred Hansson, Councilmember

I started living in San Mateo in 1952, in San Mateo Village. I watched the area grow and change over the years: the cows disappeared from Belmont, the loss of many local theaters, flooding of the Village, growth of our park system, re-invigoration of our downtown, and re-vitalization of our train system. I attended George Hall elementary, Abbott junior high and Hillsdale high schools. I earned my Boy Scout Eagle rank in 1966 and continue to work with the Boy Scouts in San Mateo today. I've been married 30 years to my best friend and partner, Pam, and we have two sons Erik (SF State, BA Archeology 2009) and Kirk (Hillsdale 2010)
