Fixing this district means

  • Better Collaboration: Create an environment that supports collaboration - of board trustees, staff, teachers, students and parents in the East Palo Alto and Menlo Park communities served by the Ravenswood City School District

  • More Technology Access: Ensure that each Ravenswood City School District student has a computer at home over the next 3 years.

  • Broader Student Activities: Implement a plan for dawn to dusk constructive activities, including community service, for all district students

  • More Visibility: Increase education process transparency from lesson plans to how our money is spent

  • Safer Schools: Make school a safe, attractive place organized for a high quality learning experience

  • Addressing Special Education: Confront special education issues in the court and increase teacher and principal autonomy in the classroom

  • Improving Relations with Local High Schools: Work with local high schools to establish district expectations that assure all of our graduates transition successfully.

  • Increasing Parent Participation: Develop and maintain a strong PTA at each school in the district to get and keep parent involvement
