This information is provided by the candidate

This open judicial position is not for a specialist in any particular area. The seat is available due to the retirement of Judge John Runde who handled a wide variety of cases, including serious criminal and civil matters. The candidate should be qualified and willing to preside over many different types of matters.

I am best qualified to handle the broad range of cases our San Mateo County judges are assigned. I have experience in criminal justice and court administration. I also have extensive civil law experience, having represented both plaintiffs and defendants for over 17 years. In addition to being able to handle a wide variety of cases, judges need to be efficient in the utilization of jurors and in the processing of caseloads. I will apply my broad court administration and attorney experience in seeing that such objectives are achieved.

I believe the most effective way to evaluate a candidate is to consider respected sources familiar with the individual and his/her work. I have worked in our county's legal community for 25 years. I am proud to say that I am endorsed by all 26 judges and by our law enforcement and community leaders. I am honored by this support. It should be given significant weight in the judge selection process.
