Candidate Statement

By Randy Royce

Candidate for City Council member; City of San Carlos

This information is provided by the candidate
Name: Randy Royce Age: 56 Occupation: Property Manager

My wife and I are 28-year residents of San Carlos and have two grown sons.

I coached youth soccer, served on the San Carlos Cultural Commission, and was a member of the Economic Development Advisory Committee. I currently chair the San Carlos Planning Commission, Residential Design Review Committee, and Sister Cities Association, and I am a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Canada College Presidential Advisory Committee.

If elected to City Council, I will perform vigilant analysis, encourage public input, and exercise my decision-making responsibilities fairly and efficiently. My priorities include developing creative and workable plans for our east side and railroad/El Camino corridor, improving our athletic fields, balancing the city budget, and developing a general plan that will enhance our quality of life, business interests and introduce new "green" guidelines.

My finance degree from USF and MBA from USC provide me with strong analytical expertise, complemented by my leadership, managerial, communication, and consensus-building skills refined during 23 years with Hewlett Packard.

Community is my passion. I am experienced, skilled, prepared, and eager to guide our city through the next four years and would be honored to serve as a member of YOUR City Council.
