Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Neil A Merrilees

Candidate for
Board Member; Midcoast Community Council

This information is provided by the candidate

I believe that the MCC needs more community participation, which can be achieved by focusing on our shared values: Environmental protection, A reasonable and fair building process that takes into consideration existing neighborhood character, and is respectful of residents, Transportation strategies that take global warming, commuters, and increasing visitor traffic into consideration.

My goal in this campaign was to achieve the endorsments of a wide spectrum of political groups in order to start bringing the community together. Our power with the Board of Supervisors lies in our ability to come together as a community and present a united front. We need to solve our problems locally.

Our community is full of intellectuals, scientists, political and environmental activists, planners and architects, and wonderful eccentrics. Its time to take advantage of our "human capital' and bring solutions to some of our "coastal specific" challenges.

Thank you Neil Merrilees
