Americas Dreams

By Roberto F. Martinez

Candidate for City Council member; City of Brisbane

Hopes for a brighter future, and not a repeat of the past in generating a wealthy nights rest
We as Americans often dream of a future filled with hope and bright shining arrays of tranquility. As Brisbane has been for so many in times passé, and still is to this day in the present. Despite what nightmares that may have arise in our dreams lets remember they are only that a nightmare; lasting only a night. Brisbane has been faced with many such events in her pleasant slumber history, but ultimately has remained undisturbed. It's my solemn hope that she remains that way, as she has provided so many bright shining dreams for so many others, and myself reaching as fare as the stars. That can easily be thought of one looks at a Brisbane star, or when reflecting on the serene views Brisbane provides; that are currently under attack from development plans. That I hope any elected official plans to incorporate in to such development plans. As Brisbane has a proud history of development generating her slumber rich rewards. That her officials have proudly used to ward off the nightmares that have risen with Brisbane pass development plans. As I'm sure every one of her citizen's healthy slumbers is their prime concern, which one time even came under attack, from a garbage dump. That never really was part of Brisbane's dream, but ended up becoming in a nightmare. That arose out of a plan to generate revenue for her. That I hope Brisbane's officials will never repeat, or at least I wouldn't in generating revenue sources.
