Candidate for
City Council member; City of Brisbane

Robert Martinez spent his early childhood years in Brisbane. Until he moved away to San Francisco Visitation Valley where he would ride his bike every day after school to visit his grandparents in Brisbane with his older brother. During the summers he lived with his grandparents who encouraged him to study at the Brisbane library. He loves Brisbane so much that after moving to Texas as a teenager he joined the U.S. Marines in hopes of returning to California. Unfortunately his plan didn't work out as he had hoped, and ultimately ended up living for a total combined two years in the Middle East fighting the Global War on Terror with as he says " The greatest men alive and dead that a man has the privilege to meet, let alone lead in combat." When not fighting abroad he would frequently spend his thirty days Marine Corps leave in Brisbane visiting family, and friends until his return to active duty. He is currently enrolled at City College of San Francisco, and is studying political sciences in hopes of wrapping of all his associate degree general education requirements before his next semester. He is also enrolled in Harvard Business School trough a joint Navy Reserve electronic learning endeavor in hopes of gaining bachelor degree credits. He has recently been published in a San Francisco Examiner, and San Mateo county times newspaper article, which touches lightly on his life, and hopes for Brisbane future.
