In order to build a more stable and growing school district we need to gain control of our budget and make sure we can always meet the needs of our district and state mandates. This includes being able to pay all of our employees the best possible wages and provide the best possible benefits in order to maintain them as employees. It is essential to always have funds coming in from the state that cannot disappear from year to year. One of the only ways to do this is by finding ways to increase enrollment. The state funds our district based on enrollment and as long as it goes up so does our funding. Our district is currently in a stagnate or low decrease mode but has lost over 4,000 students enrollment in the last 25 years. We also need to make sure we do whatever it takes to assist our lesser academic perfoming schools get better. A trustee needs to be constantly listening and learning as they go. You can never think you know it all. I want to help make our public schools a parents first choice in the education of there children
