From a stand point of being in business for over twenty years, I am a proponent of encouraging others in business to become succesfull. The Chamber of Commerce can be a vital support for local businesses and I would like encourage the City to partner with the Chamber to support one another.

I beleive that we as a Coastal Community have a unique opportunity. There are many ways to increase our revenue through business so that we do not have to impose more taxes or special taxes to pass on to the homeowners. We need to become a self sustaining city, one that can support our valuable Public Services.

Smart & Responsible Growth: With a coastal town like Pacifica we want to protect the open space. We need to have a vision for the future as to what will be best for Pacifica, taking advantage of the designated areas already planned for commercial use. Let's re-develope these areas and enhance our coastal beauty by planning small commercial businesses rather than Big Box businesses. Let's move forward to the future and still retain our small town community feel.

Measure L: I beleive that this is step one. This is a positive step towards our cities future. Pacifica is a diamond in the rough with respect to accenting our beauty. Twenty years ago our City Council made a decision that the Quarry could be developed. I believe that other quality projects are being planned but are waiting to see the outcome of this measure. The City Council of 2007 has to be prepared to exercise both vision and restraint. I beleive building a Quality mixed use project in the Quarry is a win win opportunity for everybody: Potential for a Town Center, Town Library, as well as a self sustaining City revenue.

Traffic Issue: Its no secret that increased traffic coming from the Southern Coastal towns will put an additional burden on Highway 1. This issue will officially come to the front of the line. I do beleive that widening Highway 1 is neccessary and should begin sooner rather than later. Especially when you consider the fact that we have County funds available to us.
