ensure quality education for all children in SSFUSD

By Alicia S.B. Gonzalez

Candidate for School Board Member; South San Francisco Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate
I believe that every student should have the opportunity to a quality education that can lead to a high earnings potential.

I also believe that in order to prepare our students for a successful life we need to provide the best education possible. To accomplish this goal South San Francisco has to attract highly qualified - talented teachers who want to make a difference in the lives of our children.

Raised in South San Franciso I have been involved in civic, cultural and community organizations since age five. As a resident of the city I have also seen the results of our schools, and I believe that there is much more we can do to improve the quality of our educational system.

As an elected Board member I intend to work jointly with other Board members, the community, civic organizations, government institutions and industry to create greater opportunities for our students.

I believe in:

  • Providing high quality education for all;
  • Attracting and retaining talented Teachers;
  • Providing equitable wages for teachers;
  • Working closely with industry and other organizations.

There is hope that change is possible. . .let that change begin with me.
