PRIORITIES EXPLAINED

Candidate for Council Member; City of Pismo Beach; 4 Year Term

This information is provided by the candidate
  • The restoration of DIGNITY of Pismo City Council.
  • The prominent presence of Pismo in the Five Cities.
  • The banishment of blight in the Core Downtown.
There are many issues needing attention from Pismo City Council. However, the following need immediate attention.

  • *RESTORATION OF DIGNITY and RESPECT fo the COUNCIL Provide solid foundation assuring year around, in perpetuity,the vision of Dignity and Respect from all in the County.

  • STEPS neded.
    1. Fellow council members are repected.
    2. The Municipal Code and the Code of Ethics are rigorously
    adhered to.
    3. The Council acts as Unit, not individually.
    4. Yes, differing views, but need acumen to present these
    in council meetings, open to public, not public meetings,
    to get support from fellow council members on the merit
    of the issues not personal convictions alone and within
    all the laws.
    5. Listen to the views of others.
    6. Deliberations of the council are in the service of the
    City of Pismo Beach, tourists, business and residents
    alike, not for campaigning for the next election.
  • *THE PROMINENT PRESENCE OF PISMO IN THE FIVE CITIES
    1. As a California Welcome Center all avenues from, NORTH,
    SOUTH, EAST,and WEST must give an aesthetic and
    inviting WELCOME.
    2. Installation of state of the art display signs at
    (a).Price Canyon Road entrance(joining Price St.& HInds).
    (b). U S 101 N(Creek and the underpass beautified)
    (c). U S 101 S )PCH, State Beaches exit)
    (d). Coming from South State 1(Monarch Butterfly
sanctuary, gateway to PISMO. IT IS IMPERATIVE TO
KEEP "MOBILE HOMES" on the FRONT BURNER AT ALL
TIMES in relation to RENT ISSUES,STATE 1, UPKEEP
FLOOD ISSUES,and FIRE ISSUES.
e). Directions to the CALIFORNIA WELCOME CENTERS
and to the CITY HALL, with PROMINENT SIGNS
at the locations.

  • STEPS: City neds to prioritize the fiscal allocations.
Private advertisement incentives will help.

  • *BLIGHTS
    1. Price and Dolliver Streets, the main business thorough-
    fares are littered with vacant lots with CHAIN LINK
    FENCES and WEEDS (thissituation has existed for at
    least eight years).
    2. Price St (U S BUSINESS 101)is in terrible shape.
    It took three years to mark double yellow lnes in one
    section. CROSS WALKS ARE STILL NOT MARKED.
    3. The CLAM is bland eye sore, in need of making it
    appealing.
    4. After my letter in TPR suggesting possible wine
    tasting cultural enterprses at core Downtown, Community
    Development Director is looking into deals with Vineyards
    in the SLO area.
  • STEPS

    1.Develop Building, Vacant Lot, and Vacation Rental
Codes, that do not curtail rights of property
owners still banish these BLIGHTS.
Fiscal impact is minimal.

2. The roads are vital to the security of Pismo
(Oil Fields, the possible Ocean surges due to
natural catastrophic happenings)Federal Interior
and HOMELAND SECURITY Dpartments can help repair
and maintain these vital thoroughfares.
