By Lee Yarborough

Candidate for Mayor; City of Pacific Grove

This information is provided by the candidate
Recognize limitations in land, environmental and water constraints and the relationship to improved transportation access to bring affordable available housing within reach of the workforce.
Things we can do to solve our affordable housing/workforce-housing crisis? · Provide incentives for City infill transportation oriented housing projects using existing infrastructure on existing properties within Monterey County that may be upgraded where water is available. · Provide faster, more frequent transit and rail service for a safe reliable commute by work forces allowing existing housing markets to make affordable housing locations more available and convenient. · Establish a consortium of lending institutions, sponsoring businesses and local agencies to foster work force housing in or near the locations where specific classes of employees should live for community needs and emergency availability. (i.e. Nurses, Teachers, Public Safety Personnel and other essential personnel.)
