Candidate for
Republican Party County Central Committee; County of San Mateo; Supervisorial District 2

This information is provided by the candidate

As a longtime Republican I was proud to serve my community on the Foster City Council for 8 years and as Mayor for 2 years. I also served members of the county on the Criminal Justice Council, the County Library Board and CCAG-authorizing transportation funding for projects thorughout the county. I brought real fiscal planning and accountable to every position in which I served. Foster City was prepared for the economic downturn in late 2000 becasue we had planned ahead and put money aside for more challenging times. We need more people who are willing to be fiscally responsible to run our cities and county. We need more Republicans to run for local non partisan office to rebuild the Republican party in San Mateo County.

This is a county that could once boast about our Republican leaders: Bob Naylor, Rebecca Morgan and Tom Campbell. Curently we do not have a single Republican elected to the legislature or Congress and we do not even have a Republican on the 5 member Board of Supervisors.

We have lost our voice in this community and it is time to take it back. We need to let people know that the Republican Party is their party; a party of personal responsibility, choice and accountablility. It is the party of fiscally sound management and one which supports local control of funding and decisions in the schools and in our cities. When I was on the City Council, I worked hard to recruit like minded Republicans to serve on my Council. In the last election I worked hard to recruit Repbulicans to run for city councils, school boards and water district boards. But more work needs to be done. The San Mateo County Republican Party is working hard to make this possible.

I am asking for your vote to re-elect me to the San Mateo County Republican Central Committee on June 6, 2006. And, I hope you will participate in upcoming Republican events throughout the county.
