This upcoming election is one of the most critical statewide election of recent memory. As Democrats, we need to stand united behind our ticket, no matter who wins the primary in contested elections. We need to make our platform clear so voters understand our issues. We need to challenge the Republicans on the pretext that the course of action they have taken from the President on down is wrong for our state and our country. We cannot be afraid to present a clear alternative and do so in a way that educates the public. We need to be pro-active in registering new Democratic Party voters. We have taken that approach as the Sacramento County Democrats register new voters at the swearing in ceremonies at the Crest Theater. We need to elect Democrats to all levels of government as what happens locally affects us most directly. Furthermore, with term limits, we need to elect Democrats at the local level so we can have candidates who have the know how to win if they choose to run for higher office.

In the words of Howard Dean, Let's be the "Democratic wing of the Democratic Party" and take our country back this November 2006.
