I am the only candidate that has pledged not to accept a salary for the first year in congress. I have businesses outside of Congress and am not in need of the salary nor will I accept money from lobbyist. I can earn money by authoring more children's books, social research books, real estate investments, etc. Congresspersons should not make their congressional service a lifetime project, reducing the chance of illegal and unethical decisions when a lobbyist approaches them.
