I was raised in Avalon Park, along with my five siblings. Our home was filled with open conversation on every subject, especially politics. Volunteerism was a value my parents instilled in all of us.

My husband, also a native of this city, and I bought our home in Paradise Valley where we raised our three children. Volunteerism and open debate still remain a big part of our family's lives.

My time is now free to help bring that open discussion to our city. We are on the edge of more tremendous changes yet so many residents feel they are not heard. Small business owners and our workers also feel they are being left out of the conversation.

The direction our `progress' is heading is not in response to the voice of these people. There is a great concern we are loosing the heart and soul of our once unique city.

I know we can do better. Industrious is not a bad word. We Can and Must roll up our sleeves and become part of the solution. We, as South Citians, have reinvented our city from meatpacking to steel mills to biotech. We can continue to grow, and maintain the elements that make this our home.

My goal is to bring that voice, YOUR VOICE, to open discussions at our city council table. I thank you for your vote and your support. Vote KAMALA, listed #3 on your ballet. Together we can guide our city to do better.
