Modern Educational Leadership Is Needed

By ANTHONY "FEL" AMISTAD

Candidate for Member, Board of Trustees; San Mateo County Board of Education; Trustee Area #4

This information is provided by the candidate
Innovative school programs are needed to enhance public school education. Knowledgeable leaders are needed.
I will provide:

  • adequate leadership in the trusteeship

  • relevant experience in business

  • legal and practical knowledge

  • accountable statesmanship

  • focus attention on neglected youth detention centers

  • stop the "revolving door" of young offenders in and out of centers

School Board Issues:

  • we need innovative programs for special education

  • we need improved funding for all programs in areas that are deficient for example, youth detention centers are inadequately funded to ensure that students are educated well enough to return to society as productive citizens. For too long, these neglected youth end up right back in the centers or in jail. The system needs to be changed.

With government cut backs set to disenfranchise our students, a true, representative voice is needed to ensure our children have a future. The future is in your vote for my candidacy. Give our youth a chance.
