Why am I running for election to the City Council?

By Mike Whipple

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Laguna Niguel

This information is provided by the candidate
Prior to my election to the City Council, I had worked to defeat the El Toro Airport. I served on the Advisory Board of Taxpayers for Responsible Planning, and the Committee for Safe and Healthy Communities, represented my homeowners association as a delegate and Executive Committee member to Clear the Air/No Jets. I was also the Laguna Niguel Leader of the Measure F and W campaigns. As a result of the success of the campaign to stop the El Toro Airport, I had a positive sense of empowerment. I believe that what I do as an individual and as part of the community does make a difference. I want to continue our efforts to keep Laguna Niguel one of the safest cities in America. Working together, we will preserve Laguna Niguel as a great place to live, work and raise a family.
