We Need Change

The current drop out rate in the San Mateo Union High School District is between 15-18%

Only 35% of entering white male students and 41% of all white students; 16% of all Hispanic students; and 14% of all African-American males students graduate meeting UC/CSU entrance requirements

A whopping 49% of all SMUHSD graduates entering CSU (the top 25% of class and minimum 3.0 GPA) require remediation in English.!

About one third of the SMUHSD graduates entering CSU require remediation in math!

Only 43% of the districts 12th graders are proficient in English on the California Standards tests.

These low achievement levels have not improved over the past eight years of current board leadership
