The current high school model is not working and we need change.
WE NEED CHANGE

The current drop out rate in the San Mateo Union High School District is between 15-18%

Only 35% of entering white males and 41% of all white students; 16% of Hispanic males; 14% of African-American Males graduate meeting UC/CSU entrance requirements.

A whopping 49% of all SMUHSD graduates entering CSU (top 25% of class and minimum 3.0 GPA) require remediation on English.

37% of SMUHSD graduates entering CSU require remediation in Math.

These Low achievement levels have not improved over the last eight years.

Something needs to be done about the low achievement levels in this district.
