I'm Karen Wilson. I've raised two amazing children (19 and 16) as a single mother, and have also worked as a volunteer with severely disabled children. I own my own small business, and have fifteen years of sales and marketing experience. Of particular interest to this election, I have several years of experience dealing with schools.

I served as a Midcoast Community Council volunteer for two years before being elected to serve as a member of the Council. I also helped establish Coastside Design Review and currently represent Montara, working hand in hand with San Mateo County Planning Department. My business experience and community involvement have built my skills in working with diverse groups towards common goals.

I'm an aggressive go-getter, a successful sales person, with strong leadership and management skills. I'll bring my passion for getting the job done, and combine it with a new attitude of openness, participation, accountability to reestablish trust between the community and the school board.

This job isn't for the faint of heart, especially with the board's abandonment of busing and their current budget crisis. I'm a dedicated public servant, and I bring an ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations with a positive attitude.
