MAILE A. SPRINGER Age: 37

Occupation: Mother

Education and Qualifications:

I have lived in La Honda for over thirteen years and plan to remain. My two children are enrolled in kindergarten and preschool at La Honda Elementary. I am at a good time in my life to be more active in the local community. I feel the La Honda-Pescadero Unified School Board is the best place for me to become involved. I feel the school board will benefit from having a full-time mother and former corporate executive.

My last job was Operations Manager for a large environmental testing lab. I managed 5 department managers with over 100 employees. This diverse group included technical professionals, customer relations, and hourly staff. I combine strong organizational and arbitration skills with an excellent ability to review information and prioritize items.

I feel that the school board should measure success by the ability to retain and educate students. The district budget is first place to address this issue. As a member of your board I will use my abilities to focus on the budget to increase student retention and advance educational advantages.

Thank you. If you have any questions, or want to discuss your concerns, contact me at 747-0899 or mspringer@velocity-ventures.com.
