DAVID SPEER

Occupation: County Project Manager

Education and Qualifications:

Education: Stanford University, BA Economics; UC Berkeley, MBA

Menlo Park's location and character place it directly in the crosshairs of excessive for-profit commercial and residential development. This brings prosperity and negative impacts that erode our quality of life. As a professional real-estate manager, former developer, and Willows homeowner, I am uniquely qualified to help strike a balance that maintains economic vitality, without sacrificing neighborhood livability.

Through my private sector experience I understand the complex financial causes and effects underlying land-use decisions. My public sector service has taught me to effectively manage public processes and wisely invest public funds.

As a resident, I have participated in many task forces involving development and the environment, including Menlo Park's Residential Review Task Force. I know we can craft solutions that will bring more resident services, preserve cherished uses like Allied Arts and parks, and manage traffic - while maintaining a vital economy that works for us, not against us.

I am committed to fairness and full citizen involvement, and will work hard to find balanced solutions that clearly benefit Menlo Park.

Above all, I am committed to preserving the character of Menlo Park and enhancing our quality of life. I welcome your support.

/s/ David Speer
