RACHEL PUNO Age: 31

Occupation: Attorney

Education and Qualifications:

I believe education must be a top priority for every taxpayer. The quality of education offered in grades nine through twelve will impact the future of our students, the quality of their lives and how our communities and nation will be governed.

My goals include: to prepare our students for the high school exit exam; a cost-free partnership with colleges and universities for some of the district's mentoring and tutoring needs; open communication between students, teachers, parents and administrators to better identify ways to improve our schools; improved educational tools, school facilities and safety systems; expanded sports and physical education programs; continued training for teachers; and sound accounting practices.

I am a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and the University of San Francisco School of Law. I am currently a practicing attorney with Applied Materials.

I am active in the Jefferson Union High School District's Advisory Committee, The Daly City Peninsula Partnership Collaborative and the Pacifica School Volunteers.

I look forward to being part of an effective and successful team of Trustees that will strengthen education for our community's children and ensure their successful future. The students' best interests will always be my first priority. I would appreciate your vote.
