Occupation: Attorney, Councilmember

Education and Qualifications:

I ask for your vote for re-election to the Menlo Park City Council. For the past four years, I have provided a practical, balanced approach to governing our city's affairs. I have scrutinized the city's financial management policies, and will continue to ensure your tax dollars are spent to improve neighborhood and city services.

My accomplishments include serving as Mayor of Menlo Park from 2000 to 2001, spearheading removal of the dangerous and unwanted obstacles from Santa Cruz Avenue, championing implementation of a "Safe Routes to Schools" program for our neighborhoods, promoting investment in the Belle Haven community, and serving as Menlo Park's delegate to the Association of Bay Area Governments and the League of California Cities.

My qualifications include:

• Harvard University, Bachelors Degree in Government
• University of Virginia, Law Degree
• West Menlo Park Homeowner
• Father of Sigourney (12),Tennyson (7) and Whittaker (5)
• Menlo Park Planning Commissioner (1996-1998)

Listening to all citizens, I pledge to continue to provide balanced and practical solutions to our city's complex challenges.

I respectfully ask for your vote for another four years on the Menlo Park City Council.
