This information is provided by the candidate

I have served the citizens of Belmont proudly as a Belmont City Council Member and a Board Member of the Mid-Peninsula Water District, successfully completing each four-year term to which I was elected. Today I am a candidate for Belmont City Clerk. I am prepared to make Belmont City Clerk my full-time occupation. The office of City Clerk is not an entry-level position. It is a position requiring real- world experience with strong business disciplines, administrative skills and knoweldge of the community. I bring all of these strengths to the position of City Clerk.

My business experience spans almost three decades with IBM Corporation, in New York and the San Francisco Bay Area, where I advanced from executive secretary to staff admini- stration to management positions. The valuable knowledge and skills learned in business provided me with the self- confidence and motivation to be successfully self-employed in recent years.

As a sixteen-year homeowner in Belmont, I take pride in contributing to our community. My knowledge of local and legislative procedures, and the experience of working successfully with public administrators and our citizens, will allow me to make as seamless a transition as possible to the position of Belmont City Clerk. My years on the city council familiarized me with the many state-mandated responsibilities of the office.

My commitment to the City and citizens is to serve as City Clerk with integrity, efficiency, impartiality, pro- fessionalism and responsiveness. I will assess current services and processes with the intent to improve functions in the department, as is feasible and appropriate. I will put my hands-on experience to work as your new Belmont City Clerk.

Thank you for your trust and support and for your vote.
