Board Member; Ravenswood City School District

LOIS FRONTINO

Occupation: Retired School Administrator

Education and Qualifications:

Bachelors/Master's of Arts in Education. While a member of the Ravenswood City School District Board, our accomplishments: Substantially increasing student performance in reading comprehension, writing proficiency, and mathematics on California Standardized Tests. Reduced discipline problems in the schools # increasing safety and improving school environment. In collaboration with Aspire and Stanford University, implemented first public high school in our district in over 25 years; Supported innovative initiatives including charter schools, 49er Academy, dual immersion language classes; Applied major attention and resources toward correcting problems in Special Education.

I've supported: After school tutorials, art, dance, and cultural programs; In collaboration with City of Menlo Park, California's first public library at Belle Haven; With Boys and Girls Club, opened East Palo Alto's new facility; New football field for (Nabata Yero Youth Sports) PAL football; New AYSO Soccer field at Cesar Chavez Academy; New Babe Ruth regulation baseball field at Costano.

We will continue to work together as parents, staff, and Governing Board toward goals of: Higher student academic performance, improved instructional programs led by qualified staff; improved safety on campuses; increased parent and community participation/support of our schools and services.

I value the confidence and trust that you have placed in me and respectfully request your continued support to re-elect me to another term.
