Board Member; Peninsula Health Care District

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

"FEL" ANTHONY AMISTAD

Occupation: Finance Business Manager

Education and Qualifications:

Stanford University, BA; University of Phoenix, MBA; Southern California University PS, Juris Doctor; Clinical/research, Stanford-Kaiser Medical Centers 1979-80. Director California Health Initiatives, Advisory Council Skyline College International Studies. Board of Directors Lions Club Golden Gate, Secretary 19th Assembly District-CDP. League of Women Voters Member.

The District needs strong leadership to build our new hospital accommodating additional patient beds, ample parking, and state-of-the-art technology to handle ER/trauma care. Intensive/Coronary Care Units are needed to meet our maturing population. A well equipped nursery and larger hospital lobby area maximizing effective land use and design are needed.

However this progress may be delayed. Critical issues related to potential conflicts of interest exist whenever individuals are placed in a position when their votes could affect their own economic interests. Although this conflict can be avoided if they abstain from the vote, too many board decisions fall into this category. Critical decisions cannot be made.

As a career financier with no economic benefit in the Board's decision, I'll always independently and objectively represent the patient, hospital and taxpayer interests.

My focus will be on our District hospital needs and not always the "bottom line" or special interests of any group.

/s/ "Fel" Anthony Amistad
