Smart Voter Official Statement for Jerry Hill

Candidate for
Member, Board of Supervisors; County of San Mateo; District 2

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

JERRY HILL Age: 54
Occupation: County Supervisor

Education & Qualifications:
I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley and have a Teaching Credential from San Francisco State University.

It has been my privilege and honor to represent you for the past four years.

In that time, we have addressed many issues which impact the daily lives of county residents including: improving our public transit system; enhancing policies that encourage construction of needed housing along transit corridors; establishing public and private partnerships to address community needs; spearheading efforts to construct a permanent county homeless shelter; advocating stricter financial oversight on the use of taxpayer funds.

While we continue to work for solutions to our traffic, transit and housing needs, we also face new challenges including: the impact of the economic downturn on families and businesses # and our ability to provide quality services to the needy; making sure we can quickly and effectively react to all possible emergency disasters; ensuring that our young people have safe recreational opportunities and the highest quality schools.

San Mateo is one of the best counties in which to live and work in the Bay Area. I want to keep it that way.

I respectfully ask for your vote to continue representing you on the Board of Supervisors.

/s/ Jerry Hill
