PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

COUNCILWOMAN, City of South San Francisco, CA (1997- Present/Mayor-2000). Population 62,000; annual operating budget $54 million; national biotechnology center; 3,900 businesses; multi-ethnic community.

SAN MATEO COUNTY TRANSIT DISTRICT (SAMTRANS), San Carlos, CA (Present). DBE Officer: Responsible for the administration of the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) programs for the Peninusla Corridor Joint Powers Board and the San Mateo County Transit District. Ensures the DBE programs are in compliance with internal policies and procedures governing them.

CALIFORNIA CASUALTY MANAGEMENT COMPANY, San Mateo, CA (1998-2001). Finance Department Coordinator: Oversee administrative functions for a department of 28.

  • Provide assistance in the areas of human resources, logistics, originating/editing correspondence, monitoring accounts, etc.

Stabilized an organization which had undergone a major financial and staffing reorganization.
