Experienced, Qualified & Community Active

By Ken Ibarra

Candidate for Councilmember; City of San Bruno

This information is provided by the candidate
As an active participant with many community organizations and a local businessman, I believe I am the best representative for San Bruno.
For the last 5-1/2 years I have had the honor and privilege of representing this City. I am grateful to San Bruno for the support and the rewarding experiences.

As a 24 year resident, I have been very active throughout this community. I have been a local architect for 18 years, improving the homes of hundreds of San Bruno residents.

You've seen me at fundraisers as a San Bruno Lion. You've seen me working in fireworks booths. You've seen me at the park either coaching girls softball or supporting our baseball teams. And most recently, you've seen me volunteering at the Senior Center either working Bingo or helping with one of their many fundraisers.

It is a life that is full, rewarding and fun.

As your Councilman, I have been a part of many accomplishments.

  • Approving and implementing Redevelopment,
  • Approving and implementing specific development at the Navy site, with construction of a hotel, senior housing and rental housing, starting next year
  • Adopting a Downtown Improvement Plan, making good on a long- standing pledge which will show results within the next few months
  • Implementing major improvements to our cable, water, sewer and stormwater systems
  • Expanding the Code Enforcement program

In addition to those ongoing projects I will continue to:
  • Actively work for a new library
  • I will continue to support the Senior Center in their expansion efforts.
  • I will continue to support our Recreation programs, by promoting more teen programs and focusing on a new swimming pool facility
  • I will work to establish a city-wide landscape and tree master plan
  • And I will actively promote more youth involvement through the formation of a student-run, Youth Advisory Board

There are a lot of great things happening in this City and a lot more to look forward to, but there's a lot of work to do and I've proven to be up for the task.

I am proud to be your City Councilman and I promise to continue to be your active and dedicated represen
