It is very Important for our students to be in a good learning environment. All students need to have a teacher available to them while in the classrooms. With a high class size that cannot happen. When you have an english class with a 30:1 student teacher ratio you make it hard for the teachers to help their students while in the classrooms. Even with a 25:1 student teacher ratio you are making it diffucult in an english or math class for the teacher to help the students.

My proposal is to lower the class size to a 20:1 student teacher ratio in English, and Math. In the subjects of Theater arts, and PE have the class size at 30:1 student teacher ratio. And in all the other subjects a 25:1 student teacher ratio. I will make it my top priority to make sure all the students have the oppurtunity to succeed.

It is my strong feeling that by making class sizes smaller you will make the test scores go up.I will do everything I can to make sure that all classes are small, and help the students succeed. If you elect Joseph Granata on November 6, 2001 you will see that all students will have the class size to succeed.
