By Jonathan Paul "Jon" Linder

Candidate for Harbor Commissioner; San Mateo County Harbor District

This information is provided by the candidate
Here are a few things that I would like to see accomplished on My watch!
Priorities:

Reduce the Harbor District's debt, currently in excess of 17 million dollars

HALT THE PRACTICE OF CONTINUALLY APPROVING DEFICIT BUDGETS

Renegotiate the Oyster Point Hilton lease to recover the 28-37 million dollar "gift" the developers received from the current Commission and increase the parking allotment currently planned which is substandard, especially as high speed ferry service is destined for Oyster Point.

End the unfair and revenue losing monopoly one developer enjoys over the district's holdings in El Granada

Acquiring the fuel dock at Oyster Point and making it operational with automatic card reader pumps. The fuel dock has been out of operation for 2 years and I feel the revenue should be going to the District and not a private party.

Upgrading the grounds at Oyster Point with professional landscapers freeing up the harbor crews for other duties.

Halting the plan to spend over $840,000 on a bathroom facility at Pillar Point and opt instead to get free floating restroom/shower facilities available from the Department of Boating and Waterways.

Purchase a dredger for $250,000 which can serve the District and be leased out to bring in further revenue to the District. Unfortunately it will be too late to save the nearly 1 million dollars just spent on dredging at Oyster Point, but hopefully we would have it ready for the displacement of substantial silt from the expansion of SFO.

Hire a Grant writer to take advantage of all the money that the District is currently missing out on after losing their previous Grant writer who left due to a hostile work environment, which is also why Lisa Fernandez left.
