1. Campaign Finance and Ethics Pledge

To demonstrate accountabliltiy as a candidate, Toni Kendall has committed herself to a 100% clean fundraising and compaign pledge, and challenges her opponent, County Supervisor Annette Rose, to do the same:

no contributions over $250

no money for PAC's, corporations or real estate developers

no public opinion polls or targeting different "messages" to different "communities"

will sign a pledge to servie only two terms

no contributions over $250

will post all compaign contributions on her web site

2. Stop Development of Virgin Land

It is time for the county to take a leadership role in the fight against sprawl. There are two basic measures that will draw a clear line in the sand, put an end to buck-passing and allow us to begin solving our traffic and development problems:

Kendall advocates a zoning freeze on wild and farm lands. The real problem behind traffic congestion is land speculation by large developers. The only real long term solution to traffic is to declare war on suburban sprawl. A zoning freeze will put an end to new subdivisions and send a clear message that Marin County is opposed to "Los Angelesization".

Kendall opposes municipal annexations of unincorporated land. A freeze of zoning of wild and farmlands would end county sanctioned subdivisions, The only other loophole for developers is municipal annexation of county land, which transfers responsibility over permitting from county to local governments. This loophole should be closed.
