Political Philosophy for Penny Elsebusch

Candidate for
Board Member; McKinleyville Community Services District

This information is provided by the candidate

I am dedicated to keeping rates low, even though it will be necessary to raise rates (rate discussions start in April, 2000) to do the necessary repairs, replace old equipment and to minimize the increase when we have to start paying our share of the Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District's filtration system ($108,000 or more per year) from whom MCSD purchases our water.

I have always opposed the arrogance on the board as I believe the public should be encouraged to attend and make suggestions, recommendations, or even critical comments with all comments listened to with courtesy. As a board member, I will be available to discuss issues or simply share the views of members of the community.

Recreation services are vital to the community. I want to see the Hiller Sports Facility completed with a skate park and a BMX (bicycle motocross) track.
