Fresno County, CA
November 4, 2008 Election
The NCLB Act is due for revision this year and there are many recommendations in place for change.
The Act was poorly formulated, poorly funded, poorly implemented, and poorly evaluated. This has caused a great deal of consternation with school districts nationwide to adequately measure progress and avoid sanctions. In Fresno we have at least forty eight sub-groups whose needs must be met in order to make minimum progress as defined by the testing process. The concept is admirable because it is our responsibility to educate every child in our district and we must have the resources necessary to do so.
