As a former Encinitas Union School District principal and teacher, and current school board trustee, Gregg Sonken has whole-heartedly served the families and students of the EUSD community for over 25 years. He cares deeply about each student and is passionate that they receive a quality and enriching education. Gregg Sonken's background and historical perspective within the Encinitas Union School District provides him with the knowledge, training and vision necessary to continue leading EUSD through these uncertain times.

Gregg Sonken is a proven leader who supports public education. During his tenure as a EUSD school trustee, the district has repeatedly been recognized for its academic achievement and innovative education programs. In 2014, seven of our schools were recognized as California Distinguished Schools and the Encinitas Union School District was 1 of 9 in the nation to receive the Green Ribbon District Sustainability Award.

Gregg Sonken is a reliable steward of taxpayer's assets and makes budget decisions that are fiscally prudent while putting students first! He will continue to ensure that our schools provide a learning environment in which students and staff are safe and laser focused on quality learning activities that lead to a cutting edge education.
