I have been a resident of Carmel Valley since moving here in 1986. I am a product of corporate America as my father was transferred to different parts of the country. I was born in Kansas City, Missouri, although I don't remember it as we moved to New England when I was two. We lived in Framingham, MA until I was 10 and we then moved to Chicago, IL. I attended Deerfield High School, a suburb of Chicago and I went to Creighton University in Omaha, NE. I graduated with a degree in Speech and Theater and a minor in English and secondary Education.

After college I moved to LosAngeles and I worked for Touche Ross, a large accounting firm. I attended UCLA at night and completed my accounting requirement to sit for the CPA exam. After passing the CPA exam, I attended Golden Gate University in Los Angeles at night and eventually completed my Masters of Science in Taxation. I transferred to the San Diego office of Touche Ross in 1986 and remained with the firm until I set up my own tax practice in 1991.

I would have to say that accounting chose me versus my choosing accounting. However, it was a perfect fit for me and I love the study of tax law and helping clients. I have also been able to use my teaching background, when I taught, as an associate faculty, accounting & tax at University of San Diego and University of Phoenix.
