Steven J Rotsart Jr. is running because water rates are too high! As a lifelong neighbor, parent, and local business owner, Steven has attended local schools and churches his entire life. Steven has the background experience to tackle the challenges facing Helix Water District.

Water rates have doubled for Ratepayers in just a few years. "We Need representation at the County Water Authority!" Our Voices are not being heard and rate increases are Rubber Stamped! The current administration has voted "YES" on every water rate increase it has faced, except ONE in 2010, just before the last election. Increasing water costs are stated as the reason for these increases, but other operating expenses need serious attention.

Salaries and pension benefits should be fair for both employees and ratepayers. Helix ratepayers are paying over 100% of an employee's highest salary (in many cases) and this practice is helping water rates to skyrocket. We cannot sustain these costs.

Steven has the integrity to stand up and say "NO" to political redirect like giving 18 employees (upper-management) raises in the amount of $265,000 per year.

Steven would have also said "No" Awarding the General Manager a raise of about $17,000 this year! This is "OUR" money and it is not being protected with these kinds of policies.

This year District communications state that the rate increase is only 4.5%; the TRUTH is District spending is up by 18 million dollars OVER last year's budget ($71 million) and the District is selling assets to be able to disguise their excessive spending! This Must Stop Now!

Let's elect Steven Rotsart + a lifelong local resident, he has raised his family here and has no personal agenda other than to ensure Helix Water District customers have safe, clean, cost effective and reliable water service.

Steven has served on several executive committees and non-profits boards and knows that fiscal responsibility is paramount. He has the experience needed to change to status quo, and put an end to excessive rate increases and unacceptable salaries and benefits.
