MAUREEN "MO" MUIR School Board Member/Businesswomen

AS A PARENT As the board member with a child attending the San Dieguito High School District, Mo has a personal interest at stake in achieving educational excellence. MO understands the importance of working with parents to promote the value of education for our children and finding ways to motivate them to meet their fullest potential. Mo knows that quality schools are the foundation from which we build strong, safe communities and prepare our students for the global workplace.

AS A SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER Mo graduated from the University of San Diego and has a Masters in Governance. MO was awarded EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR by the New Encinitas Business Network; and during her tenure, the EUSD school district has been rated among the top in the County and State.

AS A TAXPAYER MO is a strong proven watchdog and has consistently held the line on unnecessary and wasteful spending. She was the only one who voted NO on the superintendent's raise, to containment cost and NO to other costly spending.

AS A COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER Mo was appointed to the UCSD Lifesharing Board and to First Five by the County Board of Supervisors to First Five, who's goal it is to strengthen the relationships essential for the healthy development of young children. This year Mo wrote a successful grant for 20 laptops for district schools.

Many current and former teachers, board members, parents and community leaders endorse Mo.
