Biographical Sketch of Bruce G. Krider, M.A. (Hospital Administration)

Bruce has a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Elmira College and a master's degree in Healthcare Administration from The George Washington University, Washington, DC.

As a graduate student working at the (then) U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare, he wrote the criteria for the selection of holdings to be included in the National Center for Health Planning Information created by PL 93-641.

He has served as adjunct teaching faculty in undergraduate and graduate school programs in several local universities.

He also has spoken nationally and internationally on a variety of topics in healthcare services. His also served as an adjunct faculty member with the Chinese European International Business School in Shanghai, People's Republic of China to teach hospital management and to expand their executive development program in hospital administration.

Aside from authoring many journal articles, he is the author of Valuation of Physician Practices and Clinics, Aspen Publishers, (1997). He also was a contributing author for the American Hospital Association publication, Estimated Lives of Hospital Assets (2009).

Abroad, he has consulted for hospitals and assisted in the design and construction of hospitals and healthcare services, the development of hospital organizations including policies and procedures, staffing, equipment acquisition, organizational design, strategic planning and a variety of other consulting services in Russia and Argentina for CyberMed International, Inc., in China for Advanced Healthcare Systems, LLC and in Saudi Arabia for KPMG. He continues to accept international assignments abroad periodically.

Work in the United States has included hospital consulting in a variety of administrative and financial areas through his firm American Healthcare Appraisal based in San Marcos, CA.

For the past 30 years, Mr. Krider has also served as a consultant in hospital accreditation for a Chicago-based hospital accreditation organization which surveys all areas of hospitals.

Prior to consulting (1988) he served as a hospital administrator at three hospitals in Michigan. During that time, he was active in working with the Michigan Hospital Association in a variety of roles including testifying before the state legislature. He was on the Governor's task force to redefine the CON criteria for rehabilitation facilities. Nationally, he worked directly with congressional leaders in changing the government's (Medicare)hospital payment policies (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985).

He has served on the Board of Directors for the Palomar Health since 2003. In December, 2010 he completed three years as Chairman.

Krider was also selected to represent all hospital trustees as a board member on the hospital association for San Diego and Imperial Counties (California), 2007-2010.
