As your Deputy Mayor, with deep roots in our community, I've worked to solve problems with vision and results. As a community volunteer and 10-year veteran in the Army National Guard, I understand how to get results; by listening to neighborhood concerns, then turning your priorities into action.

I've led Encinitas forward with real results:

  • Improved government openness, creating more opportunities for you to have a say
  • Made the city budget searchable online
  • Invested in public safety, including securing funds for the new lifeguard tower at Moonlight Beach
  • Saved Pacific View school from developers to preserve the public land for future generations
  • Reforming policies to keep city trees healthy while also increasing urban agriculture and community gardens

As your mayor, I will:

  • Focus on doing more of the deferred maintenance like road repairs
  • Implement Pacific View school activation, including revenue generation
  • Engage the community to meet state housing requirements, with a public vote in 2016
  • Work with Regional, State, and Federal agencies to reduce the impacts of trains on our quality of life
  • Keep working to reduce tra_c congestion on our streets, improving the ability to walk or bike through town
  • Continue our emphasis on increased enforcement to solve the problems with noise and nuisances for residents near downtown restaurants and bars
